My last posting about Randall being sick was on 17 Dec 2008. He was down with belly flu then.
This year, 2009, he fell sick also in December. It was at the tail end of December. It started with a phone call from Mum saying that baby seemed to be having a fever on 23rd Dec. The fever continued on 24th, then went on 25th, 26th....Not only was his fever high, hovering around 38.2 to 39.00 degrees, he was coughing and having runny nose and sore throat.
The number of bottles of medicine he has to take each time is so many! one for fever, one for sore throat, one for runny nose, one for cough, one antibiotics! He used to be ok with medicine and syringes, but after this episode he will cry and run away when he sees syringes.
Mummy also fell sick during these few days, having terrible migraines that did not go away despite popping two panadols at one go every 4 hourly. Daddy was coughing and having sorethroat too.
Hence, despite having already arranged with friends gatherings and luncheons, we could not go to any single one of them =(
So glad that all of us have fully recovered now as Mummy wrote this in Jan 2010. Blessed the Lord! We love You and thank You!
Continue to cover us with Your Love and shelter us with Your Protection Lord! Amen!

I love Barney!
Mummy went to her boss's celebratory lunch at Aqua Marine in Marina Mandarin on Sunday 18/10/09. I was with her for a while so daddy can grabbed his lunch quick before coming back to fetch me. I was so busy looking around at my new environment that I didn't even notice when my mummy left me to get some food from the buffet spread while her kind colleague watched over me.
When Daddy finished his lunch at Hans, he came to pick me up so Mummy can continue eating 'in peace'.
Here's some snapshot of what me and daddy did when mummy wasn't around :P

Haha, Little Barney Randall!

Trip to Polliwogs - 19/10/2009
Daddy was not feeling well today. He was feeling tired and sneezing quite frequently, so he decided to make a rare visit to the doctor. But before he saw the doctor, he sent me to Po Po's house and Mummy to work in town.
Mummy had a rather smooth day and low volume that day and managed to finish her work very early. She called daddy and he told her that he was actually feeling alright after a few hours of rest. Mummy decided to take an impromptu half day off and Daddy went to fetch me from Po Po's house before going to town to fetch mummy.
Mummy was deciding where to bring me when she remembered Polliwogs. She heard comments that weekends are very crowded and there are many big kids dashing around which can be dangerous for little me. So as today was a weekday, she decided that its a good time to bring me there!
Woah! Woah! But when we reached there, it was also very crowded as it was the school holiday! Sigh.....
there were many families 'chopping' up all the seats in the aircon section with bags and barangs and barangs. So poor daddy has to stay in the hot, non aircon area to jaga our belongings while me and mummy played.
Overall I enjoyed myself a lot. Even though i took a while to warm up, choosing instead to walk around and play with the balls lying all over on the floor, slowly i began to explore and even have the courage to climb up and down a high structure all by myself! Unfortunately, mummy was busy watching over me and daddy was outside so not much photos were taken!
Daddy said he doesn't mind coming here again! :)

Me saying 'ball, ball, ball'

Randall can walk!
My mum told me during the 2nd week of September 09 that Randall started letting go of furnitures that he has been using for cruising and taking a few tiny steps on his own. Then it progressed to him reaching out for my mum's hand and indicating for her to bring him 'walk walk'.
I have to work and my mum don't have a video cam. So i can only listen to her and imagine. :( It is so sweet, Po Po holding the hand of such a small grandson as he learns to walk.
Today as I write this, our darling Randall can walk by himself on his own for more than 20 steps. If you hold his hand, he can walk and walk, until he decides he is tired.
At first, you still need to be in front of him for him to even start walking towards you. Now, he will just take off no matter where you are.
I am not feeling well today and need to bring Randall to his Po Po's house before I can go see a doctor. I decided to let him wear his mickey mouse shoes and let him walk to the lift today. Then when we reached downstairs, he seems to know where to go to get to Daddy's car. Smart Boy.
I bought a pair of crocs shoes for him during lunch this wednesday. Cayman C6/7 - I have been eyeing this for a long time. But at SGD50+++ for a pair of baby shoes is simply too steep for me. But I saw it selling at Liang Court that day for only SGD19.90. Although only purple colour is left, i grabbed it! Purple will look cute on Randall and he loves Barney the Purple dinosaur. ;)

Fun time at Vivio City

Took baby Randall to Vivio City on 19 April 09. We went to Toys 'R' Us where Randall managed to pick up his own birthday present! He doesn't know it yet but his parents will come back another day to buy it for him, get it wrapped up and give it to him on his birthday celebration.
He is a blessed boy with many who love him.
Saw these few kiddy rides outside Giant and carried Randall to try out a few. No coins were slotted but just sitting inside filled the little baby with joy! See his funny, broad smile! =)

Randall's First Haircut
This year is a wonderful year of many 1st milestones for Randall. First teeth, first flip, first music class...
We brought Randall to Little Junior League in Suntec City for his first haircut on 4th April 09. It was quite crowded and we took a little to understand their unique queue system. You just take your queue number off a stack of tags on the wall!

While waiting for our turn, I entertained Randall with toys, wanting him to relax and feel safe with the place. As usual, he picked out a large truck toy and enjoyed himself turning the wheels round and round.
Finally its our turn! With trepidation, we placed Randall on the seat that has been stacked higher with one more cushion seat as he is so small! The hairstylist quickly turn the volume of the video of Thomas & Friends louder to distract him.
How appropriate! Randall loves music and the sound of children singing 'there're wo, there're four, there're six, there're eight' got his full attention.

The auntie began snipping away, working very fast with Randall watching the video very intensely.
Some of the people walking by stopped to take a look as Randall is indeed very small compared to some of the kids around and they looked on with amusement. I heard one mother commented 'Wah, he never cry!'
After 5 mins, Randall starts to fidget. We were a bit worried how to soothe him if he becomes cranky. Luckily the auntie was finishing by then. With just a few more snips, she finished the job! Swee!
